Ben&Jerry's opened their doors in 1978 serving eight flavors, Oreo Mint, French Vanilla, Chocolate fudge, Wild Blueberry, Maple Walnut, Honey Coffee, and Honey Orange, sadly none of these flavors are produced in the present day. On May 5 Ben & Jerry's will be celebrating their 42nd birthday. Here are some interesting facts about the business, originally Ben & Jerry's was going to be a bagel company but they found that the equipment to make bagels was much to expensive, they have a graveyard for discontinued flavors, and originally Ben wanted the name to be "Josephine's Flying Machine" but, Jerry didn't like it.
